用瀬町は鳥取県の鳥取市のなかにある町です。

 元々は自治体としての「町」でしたが、平成の大合併によって2004年の11月1日に、鳥取市に編入合併しました。用瀬の位置としては千代川を溯った鳥取市の南部にあります。この町の広さは81ｋ㎡で、これは北海道の礼文島や香港島と同じくらいの広さです。「用瀬」の名前の由来については、戦国時代び山名氏の家臣である用瀬氏から来ております。人口は平成27年現在3652人で20年前の平成7年と比較すると921人減少しております。また、高齢化も深刻で右写真の人口ピラミッドを見てみると高齢者の割合が高いことが分かります。

 そんな用瀬町ですが、現在は再びこの地域を盛り上げるために一大プロジェクトを行っており、大学生や若者を巻き込んで再興しはじめております。

 用瀬町の名物は、「流しびな」と「用瀬茶」。「流しびな」とは、旧暦の3月3日に男女一対の紙雛を舟にのせ、菱餅や桃の小枝をそえて、災厄を託して千代川に流し、無病息災で一年間を幸せに暮らせることを願う民俗行事です。1985年に鳥取県の無形民俗文化財に指定されました。このことから用瀬は流しびなで有名となり、町では「流しびなの館」をつくり、展示室には江戸時代から現在までの５００体近くの各地の雛人形を展示しております。「用瀬茶」は用瀬で江戸時代から本格的に栽培・生産されている特産茶です。現在に至るまで無農薬・有機栽培で生産しており、昔から変わらぬ味を提供しております。

Mochigase is a town in Tottori city in Tottori prefecture. It is located in the southern part of Tottori City, back in the Sendai River. The size of this town is 81km2, which is about the same size as Hong Kong Island. Regarding the origin of the name "Mochigase", Mr. Mochigase who is the vassal of Sengoku period era Mr. Yamana. Famous ones in Mochigase is "Nagashi-Bina" and "Mochigase tea". "Nagashi-bina" means to put a pair of male and female chicks on the boat on March 3 of the lunar calendar, rice cake and peach twigs, commit the disaster to the Sendai river, live a happy life for one year with no disease It is a folk event that wishes that. For this reason, there is "Nagashi-Bina House" in the town, and in the exhibition hall dolls in nearly 500 places from the Edo period to the present are exhibited. "Mochigase tea" is specialty tea which is cultivated and produced in earnest from the Edo era at the margin. Up to the present we are producing in organic and organic cultivation, and we have provided unchanging taste from the past.
